The European Aviation Safety Symposium is a prestigious, biennial 2-day event for the aviation industry.

Attracting key figures from the global aviation world, including Shell, Thomas Cook and Qantas, the Fourth European Aviation Safety Symposium was held at Heathrow in November 2015. The event included a gala dinner and the Performance in Aviation Safety Awards.

The Challenge

In a busy calendar of aviation safety related events, the Symposium needed to attract a large number of attendees and numerous high profile speakers.

The event itself needed to be prestigious in nature and slick in running, from guest speaker presentations to a walk on awards gala dinner.

The Solution

Veucom created a distinct brand for the event and generated a range of marketing communications to promote the event. Partnering with our events specialist company, Veucom provided the event stage design and build, including management and coordination of the full two day event and gala awards dinner.  Veucom designed for a number of disciplines including:

Two brands were created for the European Aviation Safety Symposium and the Performance in Aviation Safety Awards.

The brands needed to complement each other and represent the Symposium theme of ‘Through Compliance to Performance’. Providing a consistent identity to all campaigns and the event itself, the brands were used throughout all marketing including Advertising, Collateral, Stage Set Design and Motion Graphics Video.

A programme of industry press advertising was undertaken to attract attendees and secure high profile speakers. Veucom designed a range of adverts in a number of formats.
Veucom designed the Symposium programme – a 24 page document containing details of the event and all guest speakers. In addition, a number of event related printed items were created, including letterheads, place cards and name badges.
The 2-day Symposium was held in the prestigious London Heathrow Marriott, with 250 attendees and 16 speakers. Veucom designed the Symposium branded stage set, which included coordinated lighting, audio and large video screens. A series of banner stands and signage were also designed and utilised throughout the hotel lobby areas.
Veucom produced a promotional video featuring an interview with the main sponsor to promote the event online to the aviation safety community. A motion graphics ident was also produced for use on the stage video screens throughout the 2 days of presentations. The Performance in Aviation Safety Awards gala dinner also featured a motion graphics introduction with soundtrack, again produced by Veucom.

Outcome

The event was a resounding success. Pre-event marketing assured that attendee places were filled and speakers were attracted from the world’s leading aviation organisations including Rolls-Royce, Qantas, Shell and KLM.

The 2-day event included 250 attendees, 16 speakers with presentations, a gala dinner and awards ceremony. The entire programme was smooth running and presented a slick, visual wow factor that other events in the aviation calendar did not possess. Feedback from client and attendees was extremely positive.
